Teens Can Apply to Earn Service Hours @ The Library This Summer

This summer, the Merrimack Public Library will be offering an exciting initiative for local Teens alongside our traditional Summer Reading Challenge’s youth programming.

We are looking for Teens who will be entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2017 and want to gain work experience while having fun helping out.  Teens can apply to volunteer as Teen Interns in one of four Squads that will focus on assisting our professional staff with special projects and Children’s events. The tasks that the Teen Interns will perform –everything from designing the program to execution –will be translated to job skills.  Teen Interns will also receive practical coaching on the interview process, participate in a mid-program evaluation session and work with a career advisor to translate your tasks to job skills on your updated resume during a resume building workshop at the end of the program.  Additionally, Teen Interns will be able to earn service hours toward National Honor Society, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or their religious organization.
