Business Book Group via ZOOM

We will read books covering a variety of topics that are of interest to business people, including leadership, finance, hiring and strategic planning. This will also be a great opportunity to network with fellow business leaders.

This month's title is We Can't Talk About That At Work! How to Talk About Race, Religion, Politics, and Other Polarizing Topics by Mary-Frances Winters  and is a guide for bold, inclusive conversations, that are happening all the time, either in real life or virtually via social media. And if they aren't handled effectively, they can become more polarizing and divisive, impacting productivity, engagement, retention, teamwork, and even employees' sense of safety in the workplace. But you can turn that around and address difficult topics in a way that brings people together instead of driving them apart.

Mary-Frances Winters is the founder and CEO of The Winters Group, Inc., a global organization development and diversity and inclusion consulting firm with over 36 years of experience working with corporate leaders in support of enhancing their understanding of what it is like to be the "other."  Says Winters, "I think about what I say, do and think and question whether it fosters inclusion. I say hello to strangers, assume positive intent and believe my purpose on earth is to break down barriers and build bridges across difference."

This title is always available on hoopla as an audio book or an ebook with your Merrimack Public Library card. Don't have a card yet? Register online for one here or visit the Circulation desk staff to apply for a card in person.
