Town Charter permits the Library Board of Trustees to have 3 alternates who are appointed and each serve a one year term. Serving as a Board Alternate is a good way to learn the responsibilities of a Library Trustee and how the Board governs the Library.  The Merrimack Public Library is governed by a 5-member Board of Trustees who are elected to a 3-year term. Our Board of Trustees advocate to ensure that the library is funded and staffed so that it can continue to serve our community for years to come.  If you're interested in learning more about how to become an Alternate to the Library Board, please contact current Board Chair Deb Covell at debra.covell@merrimacknh.gov and visit the Board of Trustees webpage.
