The Wastewater Division of Public Works is seeking a Mechanic II to perform highly skilled tasks in the preventive maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, electric motors, valves, and heavy-duty vehicles.
HS Diploma or GED, along with 3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment and a valid CDL-B with Air Brakes and Tank endorsements required. Qualified candidates without CDL will be considered, and successful candidates will be required to obtain the CDL within 6 months of hire.
Normal work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 3pm. Starting rate up to $27.37 per hour, which includes the 2% increase effective July 1, DOE. The Town currently pays 100% of the health, life, and short-term disability insurance premiums. Includes paid vacation, sick, and personal leave, and participation in the NH Retirement System.
The successful candidate will undergo a complete background check, including reference checks, criminal and driving record checks, and, if CDL license, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (CDL) prior to final offer of employment.
