March with the Library in the July 4th Parade!

March with the Library in the Town's July 4th Parade!

We're thrilled that this year, the Summer Reading Challenge theme, "Libraries Rock!" coincides with the Library's  125th Anniversary and to celebrate we have invited the Blues Brothers Next Generation tribute band to march with  the Library group. Formed in 1986, the BBNG is New England's premier showband.  Visit the BBNG website for information and appearance dates.

Volunteers wishing to march with the Library should register so we have an accurate count of how many folks to expect.  Please wear a white T shirt or - if you really want to get into character - a white button down shirt with a black tie. We'll hand out the rest of our "costume" (fedoras and glasses, of course!) when you meet us in the line up on Front Street.  As always, volunteers who plan to ride their decorated red, white & blue bikes, scooters, strollers, wagons or other wheels are also welcome to join us!

Line up begins at 12:30 with the Parade kicking off at 1 pm.  We'll have candy, bracelets & keyrings to pass out to those along the parade route. We will have water available for our volunteers or you are welcome to bring your own water bottle.  Wearing sunscreen is also helpful.

The BBNG Band's appearance is courtesy of a grant from Digital Credit Union DCU for 'programs that make a difference' and is co-sponsored by the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department.
