We are delighted to partner with local non-profit groups and service agencies to further their causes when we are able to accomodate these requests. A partial list of these partner programs appears below:
Merrimack Lions Club: Eyeglass and Hearing Aid Collection Site
The library serves as a year-round collection site for used eyeglasses and hearing aids. There are small collection boxes for each located in the foyer. For more info on Merrimack Lions Club, visit their website.
Merrimack Garden Club
The Merrimack Garden Club maintains the library's landscaping at the Baboosic Lake Road corner, the flower beds flanking the parking lot entrance on Baboosic Lake Road and the beds at the original front entrance on Daniel Webster Highway and purchases an annual subscription to The Fells. The Garden Club has also purchased gardening books for our collection. We're thankful for this impressive group of volunteers and the beautiful work that they do. For more information about their projects and how to get involved, please visit their website.
Caring Covers of NH
The library serves as a year-round collection site for new handmade blankets that are redistributed to children and adults in need of a hug, support and comfort when times are tough. Blankets and blanket-making supplies (like fabric, yarn, and quilt batting) can be brought to the Circulation Desk.
Lioness Club of Merrimack
In late November/early December the library partners with the Lioness of Merrimack in Operation Santa. Gift ideas for those less fortunate are written on postcards which are put on a Christmas Tree near the main entrance. Residents choose a card, buy the gifts and return them to the library, for the Lioness members to pick up. Connect with the Lioness Club of Merrimack on FB!
Through a partnership with SJCS Meals on Wheels, the Library offers delivery and pick up of library materials to any Merrimack resident who is a client of SJCS Meals on Wheels. As of 9.14.2017, this is a pilot program delivering materials only to SJCS/Meals on Wheels clients; we hope to expand this home delivery service to homebound Merrimack residents independently of SJCS with the help of dedicated volunteers in the future.
