Part-Time Circulation Aide


Description: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team player to work in our fast-paced Circulation Department. The ideal candidate will be a flexible team player, have creative problem-solving abilities, and be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include checking in and out library materials, processing patron reserve materials, processing financial transactions, and providing general assistance to the public both in person and over the phone and email. Hours: Schedule of 14 hours/week includes morning and afternoon shifts, one evening each week, and rotating weekends. While the library is operating under modified hours due to COVID-19, flexibility in scheduling is expected.

Qualifications: Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products and internet searching required. Familiarity with social media preferred. Prior library experience and/or customer service experience preferred.

Closing date: October 17th or until position is filled.

Salary: $12/hour

Part-Time Youth Services Aide


Description: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team player to work in our fast-paced Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate will be a flexible team player, have creative problem-solving abilities, and be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include creating and leading innovative programs for children and teens in both an in-person and virtual environment; providing readers' advisory services and guidance in locating library materials; assisting patrons in the use of library computers and online services; attending outreach events. Hours: Schedule of 15-20 hours/week that includes morning and afternoon shifts, one evening each week, and rotating weekends. While the library is operating under modified hours due to COVID-19, flexibility in scheduling is expected. 

Qualifications: Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products and internet searching required. Familiarity with social media preferred. Prior library experience and/or customer service experience preferred. Experience working with children and teens and/or knowledge of children's and teen literature preferred. Artistic and creative skills are also desireable. MLIS students are encouraged to apply.
