Head of Circulation (Full-Time)

Description: The Merrimack Public Library has a full-time opening for our Head of Circulation. We seek a dynamic individual who is positive and creative, possesses excellent communication skills and can work nimbly in a fast-paced environment. The Circulation Department serves as the Library’s first point-of-contact for many patrons and is the hub of collection operations. The successful candidate will maintain quality public relations, supervise the circulation of the library collection of books and non-book materials, and will curate the museum pass, Adult print fiction and Large Print collections. Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS; professional library experience or related experience with a demonstrated development of library skills, including one year in a supervisory position; five years progressively responsible experience in management or administration and demonstration of competence; experience with automated systems and other computer applications.

Salary: Annual salary for this full-time position is $42,900; includes benefit package with NHRS, Health, and Dental Insurance.

Youth Services Library Page/Aide (Part-Time)

Description: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team player to work in our fast-paced Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate will have creative problem-solving skills and can be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include shelving and shelf-reading library materials and keeping them in proper order; covering  the Children's Room and lower level in the absence of other staff; providing readers' advisory services and guidance in locating library materials to our patrons; assisting patrons in the use of library computers and online services. Hours: This is a year-round, part-time position. A schedule of 12 hours/week includes morning and afternoon shifts, at least one evening each week and rotating weekends. While the library is operating under modified hours due to COVDI-19, flexibility in scheduling is expected. 

Qualifications: Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products and internet searching required; facility to alphabetize, work with decimals and give attention to detail for shelving library materials is a must; capacity and willingless to prioritize multiple tasks while working in a fast paced environment.

Salary: $9.75/hr
