Part-time Youth Services Library Page/Aide
Description: The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team-player to work in our fast-paced Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate will have creative problem-solving skills and can be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include shelving and shelf-reading library materials and keeping them in proper order; coverage of the Children's Room and lower level in the absence of other staff; providing readers' advisory services and guidance in locating library materials; assisting patrons in the use of library computers and online services; participates in Youth Service projects in both the Children's Room and Teen Area as requested. Hours: This is a year-round, part-time position. Schedule of 12 hours/week includes morning and afternoon shifts, one evening each week, and rotating weekends. While the library is operating under modified hours due to COVID-19, flexibility in scheduling is expected.
Qualifications: Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products and internet searching required. Ability to alphabetize, work with decimals and give attention to detail; capacity and willingness to handle multiple priorities at one time while working in a fast-paced environment.
