We are preparing the building to reopen to the public for a few days a week starting mid- to late-September. The library has new capacity limits so that we can maintain social distancing, and wearing masks or face coverings will be required. Virtual programming, curbside pick-up, and outside services will continue. Stay tuned for details!

Notary & Proctoring Services

Notary Public Services

Several of our staff are Notary Publics and can notarize documents during the Library's hours of operation. It is recommended that patrons call the Library ahead of time at 603-424-5021 (ext 104) to ensure a notary is available. Please note that the following alterations apply to notary services for the duration of the COVID-19 closure:

  • Persons requesting notary services must agree to wear a mask when within 6 feet of a Library notary.
  • All notary transactions will take place through a plexiglass divider. The person requesting notary services will be asked to remove their mask briefly so the notary can confirm their identity.
  • Notary clients are encouraged to provide their own (black-ink) pen.
  • The $3 non-resident fee has been temporarily suspended; all notary servies are presently provided free of charge.

Proctoring Services

The Library is unable to offer proctoring services during the COVID-19 closure. We thank you for your continued patience during this time.

Proctoring services are available to Merrimack residents and Library cardholders. Students interested in having an exam proctored should contact our Reference Desk at least a week in advance of their exam date to make the necessary arrangements. There is no cost for proctoring services at this time.
